Being a local developer, Oakgate recognises the importance of York city centre and the opportunity to use Monks Cross to improve the City’s overall retail offer.
The City currently loses large numbers of shoppers to Leeds and Sheffield, both of which have recently announced significant improvement in their retail offer. Improving Monks Cross will help to attract and retain shoppers in York, with better transport links encouraging people to make linked trips between Monks Cross and the city centre.
